Taking Control of the Telephone Line
Another feature that should be considered for added security is the ability of your alarm panel to “take control” of your telephone line in the base of a break-in.
That’s where a function called “Line Seizure” comes to play. If the alarm panel is wired correctly (and new regulations, namely EN50131 require that it is) the alarm panel will cut off any current call and take control of the line. Again, Broadband operates differently to a standard telephone line, but the correct alarm filter will handle it all for you if it is wired correctly. More peace of mind.
